Q: What events are planned?

A: There are two events

​

1. Family Dinner - Friday evening, August 16th - a dinner for both families hosted by our friends Cory and Ione in their really cool backyard. Current plans are for us to bring in a company that makes giant pans of paella and have a nice eventing.

2. Wedding Celebration - Saturday afternoon and evening, August 17th - The wedding celebration at the Nordia House which is fairly close to our house (if you have been to visit us, and we have taken you to breakfast at Broder Soder, the Scandavian Place with the ebelskievers, you have been in the building). We don't have the details nailed down, but we would expect to do some pictures around 4:30, and the events will start around 5 with appetizers and drinks, the very brief ceremony at 6, dinner after that, then some toasts, cake and a dance floor (for everyone other than Mark Horn) and stuff until later in the evening.

Q: Where should we stay?

A: Our House, the wedding venue and even the Friday night activity are all on the west side of Portland or in Beaverton. There are several hotels that would be conveniently located (numbers below correspond to numbered locations on the map above)

4. If you'd rather stay in downtown Portland and don't mind paying a little more (about 20-30 min away from everything), we can suggest some options:

Q: How long of a drive is the airport from your house or the wedding locations?

A: Without traffic, Portland International Airport (PDX) is about 25 minutes from our house and the wedding venue. During traffic, can be 30-60 minutes.

Q: Where are you registered? 

A: No gifts, please! You making the trek to Portland is more than enough!

Q: When can we depart? When is everyone else departing?

A: If you have kids who start school on Monday, it would be possible to take a redeye out of Portland on Saturday evening, depending on when it left. It seems that most people are planning to depart on Sunday the 18th.
